With social networks awash with people trying to coerce ticket holders into an act of temporary touting, we knew this was to be a busy night.
We arrived to a throng of revellers filled with the excitement and trepidation of going to the last club night at DLS; the Final Curtain and how fitting it was to be held by Collect. After saying hello to familiar folk and armed with a can of reasonably priced lager we proceeded to join the party. The top room was catering for aficionados of harder edged house and techno headlined by Locked Groove while the basement beats were provided by the Itchy Pig DJs. The atmosphere was friendly all night with the crowd going for it until the early hours. We left feeling musically fulfilled and pleased to meet new smiling faces. We wish the Collect fraternity well in starting a new endeavour to carry on their legacy and although DLS may be gone in this guise, we’re sure it’ll be back for the people of Sheffield.
