This is the time of year when everything is Christmassy-themed, all decked out in tinsel and snowflakes singing to that damn Slade song over and over..right?
Wrong. A one off collaboration between Sheffield Disco/House clubnight Lunar and gig promoters Semi-Detached is up and coming and they’re inviting you to join them on the Woolworths shop floor for a Star Wars party that’s out of this world; Lunar’s Death Star Disco.
So where to begin? Music-wise, the Warehouse Room will see Detroit powerhouse Kyle Hall bringing the best in Disco, House and Techno along with Mavrik’s Stephen Howe and Lunar’s resident DJ, Leroy. The Shop Floor (hosted by Semi Detached) brings Berghain’s Max Graef, Belgium’s Mr. Leenknecht and the Semi Detached DJs producing only the greatest noises to blow your socks off.
There’s set to be a host of immersive experiences for you in the form of; a Death Star with an operational planet-destroying laser, a bespoke multi-screen dancefloor (by Zaron Mizmeras), The ‘Cantina Bar’ with live music, live graffiti art and the first 100 through the door get a free fancy dress item. Crikey. We know you must be on the very edge of your seat wondering when such an event could possibly be happening. Don’t worry, we’re kind and won’t make you go roaming the internet for answers. Head down to Theatre Delicatessen on Friday December 4th to get involved, you’ll be glad you did. Online Tickets are £15 and nearly sold out from www.partyforthepeople.org.uk. For Paper Tickets message the Lunar Facebook Page at facebook.com/lunarpresents.
