It’s been a while since Sly last had an airing, the HD collection notwithstanding.
Since those heady PS2 days, and it’s almost shocking to see exactly how much so, the medium has come on in leaps and bounds.
Where this iteration will endear itself to any newcomers to the series will be in the ability to affect the Y-axis, and just how good the furry-faced Sly looks on the glorious PSVita screen.
Some small niggles aside (arduous loading times and, at times, a childish humour), this is a solid outing for the franchise, and should prove glorious respite for the more battle-fatigued player of games.
